Contentment
Abby went to a fair and rode on roller coaster with a friend. She was only allowed one ride due to time constraint. When I saw her (she went with daddy and sister), she kept saying how come she only got one ride and she wanted more rides.
I started telling her that she needs to learn to be content (and she was being greedy). She didn't know she was going to a fair and she hasn't done roller coaster for a long time. It was a surprise. She should be happy that she got one ride. Annabel didn't get to go on any ride and was perfectly happy with just a balloon in her hand. (Annabel in the back started saying...Mei-mei is content with one balloon).
It was too much for Abby to bear. Me scolding her and confirming Annabel. Abby started to cry.
After we got home, when Abby got out of the car, her balloon flew off and got stuck really high up in the tree. She started to cry again. I told her it was the consequences of her not holding tight and we'll get another one next time. She calmed down and said, "it's ok. I am content I had this balloon for a while. We'll just get another balloon next time." (Annabel at this point wanted to share her balloon with Abby).
Not sure if Abby learned her lesson about contentment or she just didn't care about balloons as much.
Miraculously, the next morning, Nick found the balloon on his car (parked in driveway). Abby kept saying it's the first miracle God had done for her. She learned to be content and God gave her back the balloon.
