Babysit

Usually when I leave the girls playing on their own, they'll end up in conflict after 10-15 min.

One day, I went to the kitchen to cook dinner. I told Abby she is to babysit for me.

Abby led Annabel to pretend cook and set up a feast on the table. Annabel swiped everything down to the floor. Abby was almost in tears and called for me. I told her, "When you babysit, the parent is not around, you have to figure out what to do."

She immediately stopped whining and put Annabel on the time-out bench. But Annabel kept getting off the bench, so Abby had to sit with her and reasoned with her.

Later on, Annabel kept hitting Abby (not hard, playfully). She again called to tell me. I told her that she has to think of other ways on her own. She took Annabel to her room to hold a party.

After some time, Annabel came down to sit by the kitchen and asked for me (Abby still in her room playing). I was almost done with dinner.

I told Abby, "If you were babysitting, how can you let the baby wonder away?"
I still paid her one penny though. She is only 4.
