Material Things

I took Anna to a Nature Preserve nearby while Abby was at summer camp.
We were drawing the stream, rocks, and trees.  All of a sudden, Anna's favorite pencil rolled down and fell into the water.
We tried to get to it but the current took it and it disappeared.
I was afraid Anna would cry after her loss.  She didn't.

At bed time, she thank God for letting her learn that material things come and go and we shouldn't hold on too tightly.
