Stalling And Negotiating
The newest challenge is stalling. When I ask Abby to do something (climb up the stairs), she would stop at each step and play with something (or just wait there, not moving). When I ask her to go to sleep, she would ask for a book, a drink of water, to go sit on the chair, diaper change, you name it. Stalling...
When I ask her to put her cheerios back in her cookie bowl, she would ask how about put it in this plate, or the other bowl, or on the table, or gesture how about if I eat it. I have to insist on putting cookie in the cookie bowl quite a few times for her to actually do it. She is negotiating alternatives to my demand.
